We got a snow day. Finally. This should shut up all those global warming doomsayers! See, and we were going to invest in wind turbines! Bah. Humbug. 8-10 inches around the Island today. Not the best weather for driving. Hey, did you know this storm has been blamed for 5 deaths!
Hunting season opened yesterday, and what happened? Eighteen guys went out hunting together in the state forest but only 17 returned. What happened to the other guy? He was flown to Mass General after being shot in the neck. Police are investigating.
An emergency landing for a Cape Air flight is a happy ending for five passengers and one pilot. The plane landed at the Barnstable municipal airport last night after the pilot reported having trouble with the landing gear. From the photo it certainly looks that way.
Martha's Vineyard's Tactical Response Team diffused a potentially deadly situation in Edgartown yesterday. There were no reports of any injuries to either officers or the individual taken into custody, which is exactly why the team was formed in the first place, to help arrest idiots like this guy.
It was an exercise in expedient spending last night in Edgartown. Residents gathered at the Whaling Church at 7pm, spent apx $1.3 million and were home by about 7:30. Every article on the STM warrant passed, most unanimously.
