Washashore Author Releases 16th Book

There are two things you can count on in a Patterson novel; first, the drama will be politicized and second, the characters will pass through a court room. In Eclipse, his 16th novel over the last 28 years, Richard North Patterson sticks to that formula.

It has proved an effective story telling method for the former trial lawyer and assistant A.G. for Ohio. In Eclipse, Patterson looks at the Nigerian oil industry and the plight of an activist who is targeted for "justice" by the ruling dictatorship. The story is partly based on the life of Ken Saro-Wiwa a Nigerian writer and activist who was pushed through a sham trial and later hanged by the country's then dictator General Abacha.

It may seem like a lot to take on in a page turner but the Washington Post recently call it exciting and an eye-opener. Look for this one to be out in paperback just in time for summer. This is a beach read with brains.
